Louis Plaids and Solids

Good friend Louis came through recently.

We made him a custom shirt. He shared with us the first issue of his Zine Naked Blood. Flip through an online version below and check out the pictures of our creation for him. Good plaid with a nice burgundy.

A Shirt Worn – JK Wolf.

You may remember him from here. Good friend and early customer Jason Wolf, also known simply as JK, stopped by recently to show us how his Raw Chambray from last spring has been put to use. Jason spends his spare time occupying an art studio down by us in Pioneer Square. We’re fortunate enough to have JK pop in unexpectedly to share his recent creative endeavors, as shown below on a classic Tarboo shirt.

Pop Up Goodness

We had the pleasure a couple weeks back to take part in the ONN/OF festival out in Ballard in Seattle by setting up a little popup shop to sell some hats, hankies and shirts. We had a great weekend meeting a whole bunch of new people and checking out some great, local art.

INsight | Explorer Collection F/W 2011

Explorers are timeless.  A Tarboo tradition of sorts.  Classic blending of style and functionality presented in a well-tailored, hand-made shirt.  We offer them every season in different color-ways based on whatever locally-sourced raw materials that we come across.  For the Fall/Winter 2011 edition, we offer them in four new color-ways including the Otter, Chinook, and Heron (Osprey color-way not-shown) versions featured here.   All of these new Explorers will be available next week at both Zebra Club locations (Seattle and Bellevue), and on the Tarboo Shop page.  These are perfect for the traveler.  Light-weight and easy to pack/unpack on those long explorations.  The best thing about them is their versatility.  We often find ourselves moving from world to world and the Explorer is the perfect shirt to work in, worn casually, or slightly dressed up with a jacket and tie for that unexpected meeting at LeCirque. Believe us…you DON’T want to do the walk of shame while being escorted to their jacket/tie rack…

Factory Work | We Deliver The Order

Fall is in full swing and our cut and sew orders are picking up. Yes, we produce our own line, but often times we are called upon to produce for other lines as well.  There are deadlines, obligations, and our own custom requests to fill. That makes things hectic in the Tarboo factory.  Loose fabric leavings, random threads, underdeveloped shirts…basically a mess. Luckily we clean-up well.  Right now, we are not concerned with our factory’s appearance.  Our priority is our customers. They drive our ambitious and lofty goals, so whatever it takes, we deliver the order…

Friends Of Ours | Tilson

Tilson is elusive…Almost impossible to get a hold of unless you’re in his inner-circle.  Even then… usually you have to catch him when you can.  Luckily, Tilson stopped in the other day and (because who knows when we will actually see him again) we decided to capture a few images of him wearing the Musashi Henson jacket from our Fall/Winter 2011 collection.  Tilson doesn’t really have a job.  He has too much energy for one corporation to harness into productivity. MC/Vocalist/musician/entrepreneur/party starter? YES!  All of the above.  Add purveyor of fine Ginger Ales to the list as well, and you will start to get the point.  He’s family to us (we actually have his phone number), and Tilson has been busy making moves, connecting the dots, and doing what Tilson does.  If you’re not hip…google The Saturday Knights. It won’t explain everything, but it’ll get you started in the right direction. The business of Tilson includes just being Tilson…and that’s what’s so dope about him.  Next time you’re in Madison Park, stop into the Madison Park Conservatory, ask for Cormac and order a Books and Bridges

The Awakening | Shane Hawley For Tarboo

Shane has had a tough couple of days.  Nothing seems to work in our efforts to pull him out of the doldrums. IMS (renegade dry needle acupuncture) didn’t work.  He actually ended up feeling worse.  Its been raining all day, its sloppy outside and Shane is getting ready to brave the elements whilst making a cameo in a short film being shot here in Seattle. He’s a tough guy.  His Nordic origins make him built for situations like this…but today, he is NOT feeling it.  To help raise his spirits, we decided to release some Explorer test shots to show the world the other side of his tough North Dakotan exterior.  Being that we are launching our Fall/Winter 2011 collection next week, this may be the last offering of the lilac chambray version of our Explorer. Get one while they actually still exist…  Shane, we hope these images (along with those carrot cake cupcakes Elana brought through) brighten up your day.  Live well our good man…

Findings | Wools-Tweed-Whipcord

Maikoiyo was driving past an estate sale and (as usual) decided to stop and take a look….and (as usual) he happens to stumble upon an undisclosed yardage amount of wool, tweed, and whipcord for damn near next to nothing! Who makes it?  We don’t know (actually we have a pretty good idea, but…).  What we do know is that we have a new product in development that will put these materials to great use.  Although we are not ready to actually unveil this new product of ours, we will share these findings with you.  Draw your own conclusions…

INsight | Forever Collection F/W 2011

Since we are almost ready to unveil the new lookbook for our Fall/Winter 2011 Forever Collection, we thought we would share some of the behind-the-scenes images from the photo shoot.  Really had to edit these down though.  Some things just aren’t suitable for public consumption and we refuse to incriminate anyone (Disclosure: The previous statement in no way suggests or indicates that anything illegal took place during said time-frame…oh and no animals were harmed during the capturing of these moments). Special Thanks to Carmen King for the Looks, Megan for keeping Carmen beautiful, Kyle Johnson for the Shots, Conan for the Spot, and the Tarboo team for putting it all together.
